Im no good with reviews and some of my views expressions is what i think of the album, there are glaring holes in what i say just because i cant pinpoint (or nail) as to how it sounds.
And no im not creeping because a couple of the list members are in the band. If id ont appreciate something id say it..you all should no me better than that ;-)

The Age of Reason album ROCKS!
Public property is the perfect opener with driving guitar, menacing bass and bastard drums that pound along like at a rate of knots...the vocals are very good, menacing and nice at all the right moments!
Perfect you is lovely with dreamy/heavyish guitar, drumming and vocals are perfect.
How do you live reminds me of soundgarden in the vocals (not a bad thing) this band definately have their own style.
Killing time has some really crunchy/dirty guitar sounds, the bass is lovely and the drumming keeps the standards flying, same can be said of the vocals :)
Angelfire has some goth leanings and then again it doesnt. I cant pin how the vocals sound, they remind me of someone but i just cant pin it man. This song is one of my faves on the album.
Stone scissors paper starts just like Nirvana (again not a bad thing at all) and then goes all Queens of the stone age (but not copying). Aagain another fave.
Revolting beast moves along nicely but not a fave, much better live id imagine.
Age of reason kicks off with samples of sound from television (?), ohhh nice guitar.Very nice instrumentation and vocal. I cant pigeonhole this mutha...
Crushed..LOVING the drumming on this one. LOVING the bass geeeetar on this one. LOVING the geeetar, love the guitar on this one.
Seven Kings...a nice sloooow track with gothy feelings.Made me eel nice and fuzzy.
Liberation.. a perfect ending to the album.Love the solo. Love the vocals. The bass, drums and guitar are suitably restrained to make a perfect end to what is a damn good album.

As far as influences go theres a few, its definatley not GAF, yes it has goff trappings on a couple of songs..then again it also bears alot of imagination. I honestly thought that the album would be O.K, it certainly goes beyond that and quite frankly pisses over alot of albums that i havent bought (or a few i have) when you consider these guys done it by themselves without money being chucked at them. These guys most certainly add everything to the cooking pot and come up with their own sound. WFD (well fecking done)...

Speedy rating SSSS out of 5 (i cant give a half speedy rating).

Now you can all buy the album.

December 23rd 05 gig at The Carlisle, Hastings with Devilish Presley and Blind Image - Reviewed on www.lazyfuck.co.uk

Wow! What a night that was indeed! A great gig organised by Age Of Reason's Big Bob Black, all for the charity "Echo" which helps poor little kids with heart defects.

After a long day of lifting up heavy power amps and pa speakers etc etc, we sat around, got food and watched everything get set up. But enough of the
bullshit.

Around 7 O'clock the doors were opened for the eager for all 3 bands and the late soundchecks finished up.

First up - Blind Image (Note: I am in this band so if anyone who went wants to update this for me PM me and go ahead. Thanks)

After Blind Image a short break was held when the lights darkened again and 2 god like musicians stepped up to the stage. Devilish Presley!
My God. I have never seen a band with so much charisma and originality in their stage performance and appearance! Within 2 minutes they had almost everyone off their arses and dancing the night away, just like some huge party! Also for a band without a drummer, i've never witnessed such perfect timing from the musicians to the drum track. The crowd loved them so much they got an encore! This is one band you need to look out for in the future guys.

Again after a short break the lights dimmed for a final time, when Age Of Reason exploded into their first song "Public Property (Intro Version)" where halfway through the singer marched onto the stage (May have fallen over, but oh well he got up) and began his singing. This was a great wake up call for the moshers out in the crowd as it was insane! There was a great interaction between the singer and the crowd and there was alot of conversation. The band themselves were impressive in performance due to how tight they were, how talented they were at playing and on another note their guitarist was a lefty! (Like me haha). On top of that they were all well alright guys.

This is a band you have to see to be amazed, everyone!

Thank you to everyone who came, alot of money has been raised and all the support is amazing, thanks also again to Bob for organising such a great night and hopefully next year it will happen again.
One fucking brilliant night.

5/5 - Excellent

Great gig last night and well worth turning out for, I thought I'd better
put some thoughts down before the memory fades but I was well impressed.
Anyway the whole evening despite the very quiet start was very engaging.

Age of Reason - Fantastic start,
love the way Andy wasn't immediately apparent on stage, great musicianship
and everybody working as a team, really in your face and the hirsute midget
leaping up and down whilst trying to video the event was just so engagingly
funny that you were really swept up in the occassion. Everybody in the band
seemed really comfortable with where they were and their roles even down to
Steve's Jack Dee'esque lambasting of Dom for not dancing in time with the
music was spot on. Andy as a frontman is just a knockout and if he is
high maintenance he's gotta be worth every penny. The contrast with the two preceeding bands was just glaring - this guy(Andy) just gets
out there and delivers to the maxxxxxxxx!!!!

Hastings Observer Group 1.9.06 -------------------------------------- Album review
"...Romeos dead and Juliet's a junkie, paradise a wasteland and money turns to vipers - (How do you live?). Age of Reason are hardly a happy shiny people kind of band. The brooding dark and slightly retro 4 piece betray the kind of curled up tension from someone who's looked into the vortex and witnessed the full horror of modern living - and then had to endure a couple of hours of someone dragging their nails down a blackboard. Their sound is anchored by thumping drum rhythms, metaphorically heavy lyrics, swirling riffs and gravelly vocals that you'd expect from more traditional alternative acts such as Metallica. Age of Reason are an industrial hair metal act with a taste for the anthem, whether its the fast-paced 'Liberation', the dark swinger 'How Do You Live', the fuzzy Public Property or the brutal rhythm of 'Revolting Beast'. And their ornate lyrics and bassey sound should appeal to anyone who appreciates the atmospheric and head-nodding leanings and exalted themes of progressive metal.."

"Angsty, Goth-tinged Hastings band with a basic sound and angry attitude, live a very sullen, very heavy Manics with ANdrew Eldritch on vocals" 6/10
